You know, I just couldn't let another winter day pass with out commenting on the glorious mystery of snow and how in the world there can be so many colors in it! How can it be that when we were kids we were taught that snow was white? Now when I see snow it is so full of color I can rarely look at it without reveling in all the purples, pinks, oranges and blues I see! And I wonder who decided to tell everyone that it was white. How sad.
Perhaps that is one of the reasons I feel so passionate about being an artist. To paint through the eyes of my soul and share with the world the beauty that is truly there if only we have eyes to see...to look beyond what we were taught...what we think we know...to see creation in all the glory that is truly there. Who said the sky was blue and grass was green and snow was white?
I encourage you to really look the next time you are out. Look with the eyes of your soul, not the eyes of your mind which was taught with such limitations. But see the pallette, in all of it's vastness, that God used when he created this world. The pallette that I as an artist feel called to reveal to you as I paint.
Blessings to you.
